Questions and answers — Kalme Framer
Answers to what buyers of Kalme for Framer ask most, from plans and breakpoints to the CMS and the form, followed by the demo text that still has to be replaced before you publish.
Is Kalme for Framer really free? Yes. Copy it, build your site with it and publish it. What you may do with the template itself is set by the terms on the page where you got it (Framer Marketplace or framebrick.co) — in short, use it for your sites, don’t resell the template.
Do I need a paid Framer plan?
No, to build and publish on a free framer.website address. Yes, for a custom domain: Kalme has six CMS collections,
so it needs Framer’s Pro plan — see Which Framer plan do you need?.
My change on Desktop didn’t appear on Phone. The Phone breakpoint has its own value for that property. Select the layer on Phone and reset the override, or make the change there too (Getting started).
A new CMS item doesn’t show on the site. Its Status is Draft, or the site hasn’t been published since. Set it to Live and publish.
I added a service, but the accordion on Home doesn’t show it. The five rows of that accordion are written into its component, not read from the CMS. Edit the rows there; the Services page and the service’s own page update by themselves (The CMS).
A new service is missing from the Contact form. The “Services” choices are typed into the form. Add a choice for it (Forms).
The pricing card has no Weekly / Monthly switch on my service. The switch reads the Weekly and Monthly fields: fill in both prices and their four features.
A project lists the wrong services. They are references: edit the project’s Services field in the CMS, not the text on the page.
The project page’s list of services ends with a comma. In the demo design every name in that list is followed by a comma, the last one included (“Social Media Management, Content Marketing,”). On the Projects page, select the list item and remove the comma — separate the names with a gap instead.
A service address has brackets in it.
Two demo services have slugs with brackets: pay-per-click-(ppc)-advertising and search-engine-optimization-(seo).
They work, but addresses read better without them: edit the Slug (pay-per-click-ppc-advertising) before you publish.
The blog cards cut the text in the middle of a word. The card shows the Excerpt field; write one or two short, complete sentences.
The form doesn’t send anything. It has no destination yet, or the site wasn’t published after adding one. Add one under Send to (Forms), publish, and test on the live site.
Framer says a component has an update. Components from Framer (in Assets → Components → Framer) are updated by Framer from time to time — the template’s Slideshow shows one. Updating is usually safe; check the pages that use it afterwards.
Can I get the design as code? Yes — the same design is sold as Next.js, Astro and HTML templates. See https://framebrick.co/docs/kalme/.
Where do the photos and the videos come from? The photos are from Unsplash and the three videos are from Pexels. They are fine to keep while you build; replace them with your own before you publish, so the site shows your work and your team.
Demo text to replace
Section titled “Demo text to replace”The demo copy has a few leftovers. Replace them with your own text before you publish (search the CMS and the pages):
- “Nitip” — every project’s short description, overview and process name “Nitip” as the agency. Write your own case studies, or replace the name.
- “BrightWave Digital Agency” — the start of the address on the Contact page.
@kalme.come-mails —hello@kalme.com(Contact page and footer) and the team’s addresses on About.kalme.comis a real domain someone else owns: mail sent to it doesn’t reach you.- Typos — “What’s include:” on the pricing card (should be “What’s included:”), “demographics6.” in the EcoRide project, and hyphens where a dash is meant (“convert-everywhere” in the Home hero, “directly-we’ll” on Contact).
- The copyright year in the footer is typed — update it each year.
- Phone links keep the spaces of the number (
tel:+44 20 7946 0854); most phones dial them anyway, buttel:+442079460854is safer.
Can you customise it for me, or build my site? Yes. Marcframe, the studio behind this template, updates templates to your needs (brand, content, new pages and features), builds custom templates and designs new websites. Get in touch at marcframe.com/contact or hire us on Contra.
