Questions and answers — Titen Framer
Answers to what buyers of Titen for Framer ask most, from plans and breakpoints to the CMS and the forms, followed by the demo text that still has to be replaced before you publish.
Is Titen for Framer really free? Yes. Copy it, build your site with it and publish it. What you may do with the template itself is set by the terms on the page where you got it (Framer Marketplace or framebrick.co). In short: use it for your sites, don’t resell the template.
Do I need a paid Framer plan?
No, to build and publish on a free framer.website address. Yes, for a custom domain: Titen has five CMS collections, so
it needs Framer’s Pro plan. See Which Framer plan do you need?.
My change on Desktop didn’t appear on Phone. The Phone breakpoint has its own value for that property. Select the layer on Phone and reset the override, or make the change there too (Getting started).
A new CMS item doesn’t show on the site. Its Status is Draft, or the site hasn’t been published since. Set it to Live and publish.
A project is missing from its category page. Its Project Category field is empty or points to another category. Pick the right one in the CMS.
The menu marks the wrong page, or none. Each page sets the current menu item itself, in its template’s properties (Getting started). Select the page and set its item to Active.
The header is black on a page that opens with a dark photo. Set that page’s Layout to White in its template’s properties; Black is for pages that open on the light background.
A testimonial shows a star with no number.
Its Rating field is empty. It’s a text field: write the number, e.g. 4.6.
Some testimonial quotes are cut off in the Home slideshow. The cards in the Testimonials slideshow component have a fixed height (165). Set the card’s height to Fit in the component so longer quotes show in full, or keep the quotes short.
The forms don’t send anything. They have no destination yet, or the site wasn’t published after adding one. Add one under Send to (Forms), publish, and test on the live site.
Framer says a component has an update. Components from Framer (in Assets → Components → Framer) are updated by Framer from time to time: the template’s Slideshow and Video show one. Updating is usually safe; check the pages that use them afterwards.
The header stays white after I scroll back to the top. That’s how the template is built: once you scroll down, the header keeps its solid background. The Next.js, Astro and HTML editions turn it transparent again at the top.
Can I get the design as code? Yes: the same design is available as Next.js, Astro and HTML templates. See https://framebrick.co/docs/titen/.
Where do the photos and the videos come from? The photos are from Unsplash and Pexels, the About video from Pexels, and the hero video from Magnific, whose free license asks for a credit on the site. They are fine to keep while you build. Replace them with your own before you publish, so the site shows your work and your team.
Demo text to replace
Section titled “Demo text to replace”The demo copy has a few leftovers. Replace them with your own text before you publish (search the CMS and the pages):
- E-mails on domains the template doesn’t own:
contact@titenstudio.com(footer) and thetiten.comaddress on the Contact page. Mail sent to them doesn’t reach you. - Two addresses: the footer reads 500 Park Avenue, the Contact page 1234 Madison Avenue. Use your own in both.
- The “Use template” button in the header links to the template’s sales page (Going live).
- The brochure buttons open a sample PDF that isn’t the template’s.
- Typos:
- “What’s include in the services?” on the service pages (should be “What’s included”);
- “…need a comprehensive questions about…” on the Contact page;
- the testimonial name “Shopia M.” (Sophia);
- the year “202” on Urban Courtyard Residence.
- Testimonials: John D. has no rating, and Olivia C. shows Mia F.’s photo.
- Category pages: the wide card at the top shows the same dining-room photo on every category page. Connect its image to the project’s Main Image.
- The copyright year in the footer is typed: update it each year.
- Phone links keep the spaces and brackets of the number (
tel:+1 (212) 555-7890). Most phones dial them anyway, buttel:+12125557890is safer. - “Let’s Talk!” at the top of the footer is a Heading 1 on every page, next to each page’s own title. Set it to a paragraph or Heading 2 for search engines.
